It's been almost a year since a series of coordinated terrorist attacks hit the French capital, Paris. 130 people were killed in mass shootings, explosions and a hostage situation.

November 13th will be remembered as a tragic day in the history of the country. But in the face of fear, France toughened up - intensifying its military commitment against Islamic State and increasing domestic security measures.

Customers are slowly starting to return to cafes and restaurants previously ravaged by terror. But Parisians admit that they are still troubled by unpleasant memories.

"At first I have to admit it wasn't easy coming back here… And when I did I kept thinking about what happened, it was strange… I'm not going to say we've forgotten now because we'll never forget, but we're moving on from it I guess…" said a local resident.

"Sometimes, something happens that makes you think… Like if someone starts screaming on a metro platform, you can feel everyone tensing up. Yeah, I think the threat's always there," said another resident.
