After the withdrawal of Rome, the three remaining cities hoping to host the 2024 Olympic Games. Los Angeles, Budapest, and Paris, made their first presentations to the Association of National Olympic Committees in Doha yesterday.

Each city gave a 30-minute presentation on their 2024 bid to some 1,000 delegates from the ANOC. Los Angeles and Paris are seen as the favorites, while Budapest offers a stable and peaceful society.

Los Angeles has held the Games twice already, in 1932 and 1984, but after the recent U.S. presidential election, the openness of American society, especially for Muslims, has been questioned.

Paris included contributions from Tony Estanguet, a three-time Olympic canoe slalom champion, and Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo spoke about French sporting heroes.

The decision on who will host the 2024 Olympics will be announced at the 130th International Olympic Committee Session in Lima, Peru, on September 13 next year.
