An event to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the forerunner of China’s democratic revolution, has taken place in Hong Kong.
More than 50 organizations and around 1,200 people took part. The event remembered Sun’s historical achievements.

Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Tung Chee-hwa said that Hong Kong independence activities by organizations and individuals violated the country’s constitution and the Basic Law of Hong Kong and ran counter to Sun’s patriotic spirit of pursuing the country’s unification.
