The two sections of a steel-tube arch bridge -- currently under construction 270 meters above the Lancang River in southwest China's Yunnan province -- have been successfully connected. The entire length of the bridge floor -- nearly 530 meters -- will form part of the new Dali–Ruili Railway making it one of the longest arch bridges China has ever built. And it is also the world's first bridge to be constructed using the "secondary vertical turn" construction method.

A malfunctioning robot, designed for children, caused an injury for a man at the Shenzhen high-tech fair. The robot suddenly failed to function well, destroyed part of the glass in the exhibition room, and what's worse, injured a passer-by. Photos of the man being carried away were shared on the Wechat moments of an unnamed person. It is said to be the first case of this kind in China.

For the love of dogs: A disabled dog has been rescued, and given a "mobility cart" to help him get around despite having limited use of his hind legs. Li Ping, a restaurant owner, rescued Ding Ding from his injuries in 2015, but she wasn't able to save his hind legs. However, some local people were able to create a customised mobility cart for Ding Ding that has worked very well for him.
