For more on this, we are joined in studio by Zhang Jianping, Director-General of the Center for Regional Economic Cooperation at the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, Ministry of Commerce.

Q1. Two years ago, at the APEC meeting in Beijing, it was agreed to conduct a joint strategic study of a possible Free-Trade Area for the Asia Pacific region, marking the official launch of the process. This is also one of the major discussion points in Peru. What progress can they make this weekend, and how do you see China's role in the process?

Q2. Under a blanket of rising anti-globalization sentiment, how important is regional economic integration in the Asia-Pacific region for the future of global growth?
