After the U.S-led Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement was suspended this month, some countries, including Australia and Japan, have shifted their focus to the Beijing-backed agreement.

Xi, leader of the world’s second largest economy, said China will work with other parties to promote a strong, sustainable, balanced and inclusive growth.

In 2014, the FTAAP was officially launched in Beijing. The 21-member agreement aims to promote long-term prosperity among the member economies. The FTAAP member economies account for 60 percent of the global economy.
