China and Chile have both been benefiting from their robust and diverse relationship since they established diplomatic ties in 1970. They signed a free-trade agreement in November 2005 -- Chile becoming the first Latin American country to partner with China in such a way. China is now Chile's largest trade partner. In 2014, their bilateral trade volume was reported at more than 30 billion US dollars.

Meanwhile, Chile is China's third largest supplier of bottled wine. China also imports large amounts of fruits from Chile, including blueberries, cherries, apples and grapes. China's first RMB clearing bank in Latin America was opened in Chile in June this year.
