One of the largest public gatherings in Cuban history has concluded in Havana. Hundreds of thousands of people packed into the Plaza of the Revolution, and listened for nearly four hours, as world leaders delivered their own tributes to Fidel Castro.

On this night, Havana’s Plaza of the Revolution was entirely packed shoulder-to-shoulder with people, who came to honor Fidel Castro.

The vast majority of them stood during four hours as leaders from Africa, Europe, the Middle East and across Latin America praised Castro’s legacy.

A high ranking representative came from the Islamic Republic of Iran.

And from the Peoples Republic of China, Vice President .....

Bolivia’s President Evo Morales said because of Castro the Cuban people and Latin Americans stand united.

"In the last few hours, I heard the pro-Imperialist news media ask, what will Cuba do without its leader? But we are seeing and the entire world is seeing the Cuban people more united than ever," Morales said.

And Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro told the crowd that Castro achieved what he set out to do.

"I have a voice that represents millions of voices to tell you Commander, with the greatest admiration, with the utmost gratitude, Commander – mission completed. Splendidly completed," Maduro said.

The final speaker of the evening was the current president of Cuba, Raul Castro. He made reference to one of his brother’s famous speeches in the early 1960s.

"Fidel proclaimed that behind the nation, behind the free flag, behind the redemptive revolution, there is a dignified people, who are ready to defend their independence and common destiny of a liberated Latin America,"  Raul Castro said.

It all harkened to the untold number of times Fidel Castro himself spoke before crowds -- etching his name into the annuals of history.
