A TV series telling stories about China-Africa exchanges over the past six decades is airing in Tanzania. It was produced by China Central Television’s French channel and is very popular among African audiences.

In the TV series, 60 different people from China and several countries in Africa tell their experiences which have witnessed China-Africa relations.

At the premiere ceremony, stories about the former Prime Minister of Tanzania Salim Ahmed Salim were told.

“The stories are so interesting that I’ve never seen things like that before,” said Ayubbu Chacha, general director of Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation.

Back in 1956, the People’s Republic of China established diplomatic ties with Egypt, a milestone in China-Africa ties. Now 60 years have passed, and the relationship between China and the African region has witnessed stable development.

“The TV series aims to go through the development of the relationship between China and African countries through the past six decades on the one hand. And it also marks the start of a new relationship on the other,” said Yu Jiang, deputy director of CCTV French Channel.

Tanzania is the first African country to air the television series.
