To start off in Spain with football and the first El Clasico of the La Liga season as Barcelona hosted Real Madrid. The visitors came in unbeaten in 32 games and with a six point lead in the standings over the Catalans who have not looked themselves of late and were held to a draw by Real Sociedad last Sunday. But with playmaker Andres Iniesta back from injury, the defending champions would look better, only to be undone by a trademark late strike from Sergio Ramos.

Before kick-off, both sides pay homage to the 71 victims of the plane crash in Colombia on Monday that all involved most of Brazilian club Chapecoense.

Luis Suarez looks to have breathed new life into the title race when he heads home the opener from Neymar's free-kick eight minutes into the second half.

But in stoppage time, Real captain Ramos meets Luka Modric's free-kick with a powerful header to stretch Madrid's unbeaten run in all competitions to 33 games.

In other matches from Saturday, Granada got a big home win over Sevilla, Atletico Madrid were frustrated in a 0-0 draw with Espanyol, while Leganes and Villareal also ended scoreless.

Los Blancos draw means they maintain thier six point lead over Barca at the top of the table with Sevilla missing their chance to leapfrog the Catalan club. Atletico remain fourth on 25 points and Villareal rounds out the top five, but can be pased by Real Sociedad who have a game in hand.
