It's been four years since the China's ruling Communist Party laid out rules for member conduct. The Eight-Point Regulation of the Center was approved by the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC in December 2012. The regulation makes explicit requirements on how CPC members should improve their work style in eight aspects.
It focuses on rejecting extravagance, formalism, and bureaucracy. Since it went into effect, there have been over 146,000 violations of the regulation. The Party has disciplined nearly 200,000 members.
