At least five people were killed and three others injured after heavy rains triggered multiple landslides in western Indonesia.

A national disaster management spokesperson said four miners died and three injured when a hillside collapsed on a gold mine compound in Banten province to the west of Java island.

Another landslide took place in East Java province, leaving one person dead.
