To North America and the MLS Cup. Hosts Toronto, the first Canadian team to reach the final, were looking for a story-book ending by claiming their maiden title on home-soil. But the Seattle Sounders would have other ideas as they looked to spoil the party.

90 wasn't enough. Neither was another 30 or five regulation penalty kicks aside. Seattle outlasting Toronto, with Roman Torres -- the hero scoring the deciding penalty as the Sounders clinch their first MLS Cup titel.

You could forgive Toronto FC for thinking they deserved better. They had 19 shots at target, 7 on goal while the Sounders didn't manage a shot until kicks. And it was Stefan Frei -- the former FC keeper that was named the Player of the Game for his efforts.

So, the MLS Cup doesn't have to go far to find its new home. It stays in Cascadia moving from Portland to Seattle as the Sounders are your 2016 MLS Champions.
