The BWF Super series is underway in Dubai. In the women's doubles final, China's pair of Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan would have their hands full, as the youngsters would face the top-ranked team in the world -- Misaki Matsumoto and Ayaka Takahashi of Japan.

A victory by the Chinese would be historic for the 19-year-old Jia, as she would become the youngest player to win a Super Series title.

The Chinese in red, and leading in the opener, the pair exchange in a good rally, and the Japanese try and smash their way to this point, only they fire it long, handing the Chen and Jia the frame 21-15.

But the world number one pair, show why they are on top of the rankings, easily grabbing the second 21-13 and force a decider when this Chinese return hits the net.

The third was tight, and the teams fire away, trying to get the upperhand -- Chen smashes home the birdie to put her team on match point.

And the seventh seeds were able to seal victory on the next point, when their opposition finds the net.

Dane becomes first European to win title in Dubai

The marquee event would be the men's singles, yet we will show it last -- third seed Tian Houwei of China was up against top-seeded Dane Viktor Axelsen, the bronze medallist at the Rio Olympics.

It was only the second meeting between the two and Axelsen claimed the opening game 21- 14.

But 21-year-old left-handed Tian found his rhythm and took the second game 21-6 to level the score

However, Axelsen - who lost last year's final - would refocus and outpoint his opponent in the third, claiming a 21-14, 6-21, 21-17 triumph.

This is Axelsen's first Superseries title, and becomes the first European to win the title in Dubai.
