After six strained years, China and Norway have agreed to normalize ties. Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg said the normalization of ties was a result of diplomatic trust building efforts.
In a statement on Monday, she said the freezing of diplomatic relations in 2010 had been challenging for Norway in "many international contexts". Solberg added that "icy relations have been a problem for Norwegian enterprise, which experienced the lack of political ties as a barrier."
Norway is now looking forward to more collaboration opportunities with China. Solberg also said it is important to cooperate with China on international issues, including climate change.
