To the hardwood for the NBA and a dramatic encounter between the Indiana Pacers and the visiting Washington Wizards. The Wiz entered the contest on the back of three straight wins, but beating the Pacers at home is a tall order as they've only lost 4 of 15 on homecourt this season, and thanks to some late heroics from Thaddeus Young, their fans would have another chance to cheer.

In the first quarter, John Wall finds Marcin Gortat for an easy bucket to put the Wizards up 14-4. The fearsome Pole finishes with 21 points and 13 rebounds.

In the second the Pacers get back into the contest and take the lead thanks to Jeff Teague who drives in for two following off a fast break. Indiana up 49-47.

They would be tied at 57 at half. Then late in the third quarter Teague gets this prayer to drop while getting fouled and falling down. The three point play puts the Pacers up 84-77.

It would remain close in the final Q and when Bradley Beal cans this jumper, it's tied up at 88.

But the Pacers start to pull away and when Paul George knocks down two of his game-high 27 points, Indiana lead 101-93.

But the Wizards come up with some magic and Beal's foot is just barley on the line for this long effort that is ruled a deuce which ties the game at 105.

4.6 seconds left on the clock, Young drops his shoulder and drives in to score with a running floater. The fans are going crazy as Young's basket puts the Pacers up by two.

There's still enough time for Beal to get off a final attempt, but it clangs off the rim and Indiana win a thriller 107-105.

Elsewhere, 19 from Jimmy Butler helped Chicago end a three game losing streak by beating Detroit 113-82. Russell Westbrook had 46 points and 11 rebounds, but OKC still lost to Atlanta 110-108. Karl-Antony Towns scored 28 points in Minnesota's 115-108 victory over Phoenix, and a career high 24 points from Gary Harris helped Denver overcome Dallas by ten.
