Syrian President al-Assad says his country's victory in Aleppo is an achievement it shares with Russia and Iran.

Assad says the battlefield successes are milestones on the road to ending terrorism in the whole country and creating the right circumstances for ending the war. The Russian air force conducted hundreds of raids on rebel-held parts of Aleppo. 

And Iran-backed militia groups sent thousands of fighters against rebels on the city's front lines.
