China to adjust tariffs in 2017

China will adjust some import duties starting from next year. The Finance Ministry says the adjustments will based on the theme of innovation-driven development.

The ministry also says the adjustments will be aimed at encouraging imports of advanced equipment, key parts, and energy materials.

In addition, the ministry said that China will lower tariffs on speciality foods and such cultural products as sculptures.

China will also cut tariffs on materials for anti-cancer medicines. The ministry says China will continue to implement agreement-based tariffs on imports from 25 countries and regions.
