12-26-2016 19:15 BJT

To discuss this story in greater detail Doctor Teng Jianqun, Director of the American Studies Department at the China Institute of International Studies, joins us now in the studio.

Q1: Since Donald Trump's election as next president, he has sent out some slightly worrying signals about the US' relationship with Taiwan, which threatens China's core interests.
