Russia's foreign ministry says two mortar rounds were fired at the Russian embassy in Damascus on Wednesday. There are no reports of casualties or damage.
The ministry says a shell hit an inner yard of the embassy complex, while another shell landed near the diplomatic mission.
The ministry calls the shellings a provocation aimed at derailing the peace process in Syria.
