Defense Ministry spokesperson Yang Yujun said on Thursday that Wang is the first general of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) to be put under investigation while in service.

Wang's publicized resume shows that he was born in 1953 and joined the PLA at an early age and later served various posts in the Chinese Armed Police Force.
