TIANJIN, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- A popular instant food maker said Tuesday that its Chinese mainland business will not be affected by the dissolution of its subsidiary in Taiwan.

The Tianjin-based Tingyi (Cayman Islands) Holding Corp., which makes and sells "Master Kong" instant noodles, beverages, and other foods, confirmed Tuesday that its subsidiary Master Kong (Taiwan) Foods Co. Ltd. was dissolved in Taiwan on Sunday.

A Tingyi official who declined to be named said the company's manufacturing and retail of products for the Chinese mainland are not affected.

The official said Master Kong (Taiwan) Foods Co. Ltd. only operated in Taiwan until 2015 when business was suspended after a food scandal.

In October 2014, Ting Hsin International Group, parent company of Tingyi, was implicated in a contaminated cooking oil scandal in Taiwan. Tingyi has repeatedly denied exporting tainted food products to the Chinese mainland.
