MADRID, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Real Madrid enjoyed their 39th unbeaten game thanks to a comfortable 5-0 win at home to struggling Granada on Saturday.

Granada were never in the game and after conceding a 12th minute goal to Isco, the visitors found themselves 4-0 down at halftime as Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Isco (again) added to the score.

Casemiro added a fifth goal in the second half in a game where Madrid never looked to be in trouble, but which highlighted Granada's problems deep in the relegation zone.

Sevilla 4-0 won away to Real Sociedad to ensure they remain just four points behind of Madrid, (who they play at home next weekend), thanks to two first half goals from Ben Yedder and a second half strike from Pablo Sarabia, before Ben Yedder finished his hat-trick close to the end.

Real Sociedad started the game full of confidence but were the architects of their own downfall with defensive errors in Sevilla's first three goals

Atletico Madrid won 2-0 away to Eibar, who perhaps deserved more from the game but were unable to penetrate a tight Atletico defense and were undone by second half goals from Saul Niguez, which should have been ruled out for offside, and Antoine Griezmann's first league goal in 10 games.

Finally, on a day when Valencia's Director of Sport, Garcia Pitarch announced his resignation in a key piece of off the field news, Nabil el Zhar's second half goal was enough to give an impressive Las Palmas all three points against a Sporting Gijon side which looks ill-equipped to avoid relegation.
