Meet the Diplomats: Building strong China-Jamaica ties

03-03-2017 21:33 BJT

Full coverage: 2017 NPC & CPPCC Sessions

In this episode, the CCTV.com Panview team features an interview with the Finance and Public Service Minister of Jamaica. He talks about how China and Jamaica bilateral relations have witnessed remarkable cooperation in recent years.

Beijing assisted Kingston amid the catastrophe of the 2008 Financial Crisis. Chinese companies have made substantial loans, investments and trade in the Caribbean island.

The Finance Minister believes even brighter days are ahead as Kingston considers signing up for China’s AIIB (Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank), which would play a key role in Chinese President’s Belt & Road Initiative.

Mr. Shaw also highlighted China’s amazing efforts to build highways in his island nation and how China and Jamaica are working together to seek more profitable ventures.
