Beijing assisted Kingston amid the catastrophe of the 2008 Financial Crisis. Chinese companies have made substantial loans, investments and trade in the Caribbean island.

The Finance Minister believes even brighter days are ahead as Kingston considers signing up for China’s AIIB (Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank), which would play a key role in Chinese President’s Belt & Road Initiative.

Mr. Shaw also highlighted China’s amazing efforts to build highways in his island nation and how China and Jamaica are working together to seek more profitable ventures.
