China's top political advisors have concluded their annual session.  Members of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference approved a political resolution on the country's efforts to deepen supply-side structural reform to boost economic growth.

China’s top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng looked back on the performances of the CPPCC's standing committee this year.  He said it performed its mandate quite well, fully participating in the administration and discussion of state affairs.

"All CPPCC members should be responsible and contribute their ideas on pushing for new social and economic development, sincerely cooperate, pragmatically supervise and be thoroughly involved in policy making and be thoroughly involved in policy making, and build a more forthright admonition and promote the ground work of the major policies of the CPC Central Committee, thus improving the well-being of the people," Yu said.

During the 11-day session, the advisory body submitted more than 5,000 proposals aimed at improving the country’s economic and social development.

Major topics included supply-side structural reform, environmental protection -- especially air pollution control -- as well as new approaches to ensure a smooth economic transformation amid the world economic slowdown.

As well as that, the Communist Party of China will convene its 19th Congress to elect its new leadership for the next five years.

As the top advisory body session comes to an end, approved proposals will now be delivered to relevant state bodies for implementation. And even with a sluggish world economy and unstable regional politics to contend with, there are high hopes that the proposals can help China continue to seek progress and maintain stability at the same time.
