Chinese president Xi Jinping has met Nepal's Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, in Beijing.  President Xi said the two countries should make the most of opportunities presented by the Belt and Road Initiative and improve connectivity, free trade and energy. He said both countries should also deepen corporation in tourism, culture and media.

Dahal said Nepal appreciates China's support in post-disaster reconstruction, adding that his country adheres to the One China policy. He said Nepal supports the Belt and Road Initiative, and will actively pursue cooperation with China on trade and investment, transportation, tourism and aviation.

"Our countries have maintained close coordination on various levels including politics and the military. We've steadily pushed forward connectivity, post-disaster reconstruction as well as advancing infrastructure and people to people exchanges. I'm glad to see this progress. We should work together to create a new momentum of friendly cooperation," President Xi said.
