"There is no reason to believe that organizing this meeting, the Communist Party of China (CPC) wants to direct political parties according to its own line. Rather it seems the Chinese leadership felt the need to exchange views with world political parties to understand better the new era that the world is entering." These are the remarks given by Doğu Perinçek, Chairman of Turkey's Patriotic Party, who participated in the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-Level Meeting held in Beijing on Nov.30 - Dec. 3, 2017.

During an exclusive interview with CCTV.com at the sidelines of the meeting, Perinçek said he was impressed by the keynote speech delivered by the General Secretary of the CPC and President of China Xi Jinping, especially his vision of "building a community with a shared future for mankind."

Perinçek believes the CPC is bringing hopes to all countries and peoples of the world by proposing the concept of "development by sharing" by "connecting the prospects and destinies of every nation and country closely together, sharing weal and woe, turning planet Earth into a harmonious family, and making people's desire for better life come true."

He thinks the CPC's prestige is rising now on the world stage, as China now contributes 39% to the world's economy in 2016, while the US's contribution is only 16%. Now the politician, philosophers, cultural personalities all over the world are turning their eyes to China, which has become the locomotive driver of the world's economy, culture and innovation.

Perinçek also noticed that the success of China's economy, innovation and culture, etc. has brought influence to politicians around the world, including leaders from German and France, etc. Perinçek gave an example: German Ex-Chancellor Helmut Schumidt had written in 1990s his first book on China and published another two in 2014, calling people to look to China. In his book, Schumidt said China is increasing and is the star of the future. While he was pessimistic of the future of Europe, but has expressed optimistism of the future of China and said, "only by connecting with China can we save the future of Europe."

Although China is now the second largest economy in the world, Perinçek believes in what Xi Jinping said in his speech to the delegates of the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-Level Meeting: "The CPC would neither import foreign models of development nor export the Chinese model. We will not ask other countries to copy the Chinese practice. No matter how much stronger it may become, China will never seek hegemony or expansion. We call on all the parties around the world to join us in bringing peace to the world, contributing to global development and maintaining world order."

Perinçek recalled back to 1974 when China made the promise of "never seeking hegemony" in the United Nations by the late Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping. More than 40 years later, Xi expressed the same position that stands as proof Beijing is keeping its solemn promise and will do so in the future.

Perinçek is an old friend of China and pays great respect to Chinese leaders including Chairman Mao Zedong. He has visited China 12 times, in almost every part, and even many villages of the country, beginning from 1975 on official invitation. He has witnessed the great changes and tremendous achievements endeavored by the Chinese led by the CPC.
