On July 26-27, Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the Plenary Session of the 10th BRICS summit and an informal meeting to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the BRICS mechanism  and an outreach dialogue grouping leaders from BRICS, the "BRICS Plus" dialogue and African countries at the 10th BRICS summit in Johannesburg, South Africa.

At the Plenary Session of the 10th BRICS summit, President Xi delivered a speech, "Turn Our Vision into a Reality."  Xi pointed out the trend of our times and outstanding features of the new industrial revolution. He also put forward four initiatives on the future development of the BRICS cooperation, in a bid to turn the vision of a second "Golden Decade” into reality, which has won wide acclaim from leaders participating at the summit and public opinion from at home and abroad.
 
This year marks the first year of the 2nd "Golden Decade" for BRICS cooperation. At the Xiamen and Johannesburg summits, the Chinese solutions proposed by President Xi are far-sighted and consistent, which will help bring the beautiful vision of BRICS cooperation into reality.

To build the new chapter in BRICS cooperation, President Xi put forward four proposals, calling on BRICS partners to unleash great potential of economic cooperation, safeguard global peace and security and expand people-to-people exchanges and cooperation, and build a closer partnership network, which tailors to the new international situation and the challenges BRICS countries face, injecting a new momentum into cooperation of BRICS.

The 10th BRICS summit in Johannesburg marks a new starting point for BRICS mechanism. Under the guidance of President Xi’s initiatives and proposals, BRICS bloc is expected to deepen its strategic partnerships, consolidate the BRICS mechanism of "Three-Wheel Drive", and expanding the “BRICS Plus" cooperation model, propelling BRICS cooperation to continue to shine in its second "Golden Decade."
