Diabetic Retinopathy, or sometimes called simply retinopathy, is a disease of the retina of the eye due to diabetes.

The affect of diabetic retinopathy on vision varies widely, depending on the stage of the disease. It could range from mere blurred vision (this is often linked to blood sugar levels) to blindness.

There are ways to stop retinopathy from developing, or at least to slow down the process, doctors say. They include keeping a healthy diet, having regular exercises, having regular checks of your eyes (with dilated pupils), as well as having regular checks of your glucose and blood pressure.

Chinese Medicine has a rather unconventional way of treating retinopathy.
