Iran tests another new missile

Iran says it has successfully test-fired a "top secret" missile, the third within a week.

A state-run television report called the missile test a "turning point". It said the new weapon does not require the targeting system that other missiles need to make use of their maximum range. It said Iran was the first country to develop this new missile technology. The tests come as the Revolutionary Guards, an elite branch of Iran's military, conduct war games in the Persian Gulf and Arabian Sea, this amid increased tensions with the United States over Tehran's nuclear program. Since the war games began on Friday, the Iranian military has reportedly tested a total of three missiles and two torpedoes.
