ASEAN+3 ministers strengthen financial ties

Finance ministers from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations,or ASEAN and China, Japan and South Korea have committed to further strengthening East Asian financial cooperation.
The ministers at the ninth "ASEAN Plus Three" Finance Meeting said in a joint statement on Thursday that they have agreed to further strengthen cooperation in policy development. They also urged swift action, both on the demand and supply side, to stabilize the oil market. The ministers also exchanged views on regional economic and financial development, and policies. And also discussed progress in regional financial cooperation. The twelve financial ministers also signed an agreement to reaffirm the Chiang Mai Initiative's two core objectives. And they also pledged to carry out efforts to help ensure greater financial stability in the Asian region, and also to push forward financial coordination in the East Asian region.
