Banks of Turkey seeks Malaysia's cooperation in Islamic finance

After presiding over the 6th Kuala Lumpur Islamic Finance Forum in Kuala Lumpur on Monday, Malaysian Second Finance Minister Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah said one of the biggest Turkish financial institutions --Asya Bank, has indicated its interest in forging ties with Islamic banks in Malaysia, such as Maybank and CIMB.

Husni said Turkey needs Malaysia's assistance in implementing the Islamic finance system. The cooperative arrangement would also be a good opportunity for Malaysian investors to invest in projects in Turkey.
