South Korea's economy is recovering faster than many other major countries. According to the latest growth outlook of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), South Korea's economy posted the highest fourth-quarter growth among the Group of 20 member nations, and will grow 3.6 percent in 2010.

The Finance Ministry in Seoul says that the IMF gave the most promising growth forecast to South Korea.

According to the latest IMF figures, South Korea's economy will shrink 1 percent this year, up from a 3 percent contraction unveiled three months earlier. The 2-percentage point upward revision is the steepest adjustment among the G-20. It is also much higher than the average of 0.2 percentage point for the whole of the G-20.
