Diplomatic tensions have deepened between Thailand and Cambodia after the ousted former Thai Prime Minister, Thaksin Shinawatra, arrived in Phnom Penh.
Thaksin's arrival came two days ahead of the original date announced on Sunday, by Cambodian Prime Minister, Hun Sen.
He initially told reporters that Thaksin would arrive in the capital on Thursday, to give an economic lecture to an audience of 300 at the Finance Ministry.
Thaksin's appointment by the Cambodian government is further complicating an already tense relationship.
Thailand is now in the process of sending documents to Cambodia, requesting the country extradite the former prime minister.
Panithan Wattanayakorn, Thai Government Spokesman, said, "We still tend to be good neighbors with Cambodia, but with the complicated issue created by officials in Phnom Penh, we have to change our policy."
