Nokia´s SMS contest for environmental protection

Human being has only been around for a very short time period on earth in comparison with the history of the planet. Yet the damages caused by humans have been devastating. Caring people have figured out many ways to educate the society in terms of natural appreciation and protection. And some say that educating the young is essential for the future of our living environment.

In this year's SMS Contest for Environmental Protection launched by Nokia, teenagers from 25 provinces around China have sent over 100,000 short messages to express their thoughts on environmental protection. Being carefully selected and judged, 10 finalists have been awarded with an honored title as the "Little Pioneer for Environmental Protection". It was said that the event has successfully caused awareness on the importance of keeping a clean and natural environment to the participants, as well as to many different social circles. Further more, environmental protection should be a long-term endeavor of the whole society, with real actions and results.
