Online sales are heating up ahead of National Day in China. Discounted TV sets are one hot item, as are products with a patriotic flavor.

In Amazon's operation center in Beijing, staff are busy packing up HDTV-sets which will then be delivered nationwide. Since the online sales operator launched promotions in September, sales of TV sets have surged significantly.

Zhou Tao, General Manager of Amazon BJ Operation Center said "Sales have shot up 40 percent. But out stockpiles have also increased 5 times from a year earlier."

To meet surging demand, the center has changed the setup of its warehouse.

Zhou Tao said "Previously, shelves here contained other goods. But now we have had to remove them to leave more place for TV sets."

Meanwhile, another major online sales operator, Vancl, has also seen sales of T-shirts bearing the "I Love China" logo skyrocket as much as 10 times.

Chen Nian, CEO of Vancl said "I think this is mainly because people want to imprint this moment on their memories."

China Post has also teamed up with Dangdang.com to set up an online store to sell postcards celebrating the 60th National Day. By simply clicking on your mouse, any one can buy a postcard anywhere in China.
