China'a tax revenue grows 2.2% y-o-y

2009-11-04 09:20 BJT

China's tax revenue hit more than 4 and a half trillion yuan in the first nine months of this year, growing 2.2 percent from the same period last year.

Impacted by the financial crisis, tax revenue dropped in the first half. But since June this year, tax revenue began to climb month by month, and the growing rate is still increasing.

The Ministry of Finance attributed the growth to the country's active fiscal policy and relatively easy monetary system. It also pointed out some key economic indexes are showing positive signs.

Moreover, the increase of refined oil, cigarette and alcohol taxes have also contributed to the revenue growth. Thanks to the consumption stimulus packages, consumer tax and business tax revenues have also risen.
