Hu Jintao arrives in Brasilia

President Hu Jintao has arrived in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, on a state visit. He will also attend a summit of Brazil, Russia, India and China slated for Thursday and Friday. The summit of the four countries, collectively known under their acronym BRIC, will be hosted by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Russia is represented by Dmitry Medvedev, and India, by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The leaders will discuss the global economy and financial situation, reform of the international financial system, climate change, and cooperation among the four countries.
