Leaders of BRIC nations meet at 2nd summit

Leaders of China, Brazil, Russia and India have met in Brazilian capital, Brasilia, to discuss the world economic and financial situation. This is the second time leaders of the top four emerging nations, known as the BRIC group, held a summit.

The topics discussed included reform of the international financial system, climate change and cooperation among the four countries. The leaders are looking to strengthen trade ties within the group and are calling for a bigger role in the global economic order. Before the summit, China said closer cooperation and exchanges among the four nations will be conducive to increasing the influence of emerging and development countries.
