Seven Russian hikers who went missing for more than one month were transferred to Minfeng County near the remote Kunlun Mountain Range. They were trapped in the mountains in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The hikers went into the mountains last month, without obtaining permission from the local authorities. They managed to call for help with a satellite telephone on October 13th, saying they were in danger and one of them was sick.

After a five-day search, they were found when a friend of theirs in Shanghai called the public security bureau in Minfeng, telling them of their location. The Kunlun Mountain Range reaches an altitude of 6 thousand meters and has an extremely harsh climate.
