Lanzhou city authorities, in northwestern China's Gansu Province, have decided to allow those students who had no symptom of flu contraction during quarantine to return home. As of August 29th, 25 students and one staff member at the Lanzhou Chenggong School have been diagnosed with A/H1N1 flu.

More than 2,000 boarding school students were quarantined after the first case of A/H1N1 flu was reported on August 25th. Four days later, students who were not running a temperature were allowed to return home.

Students from Lanzhou are meeting up with their parents in a designated area within the school compound. Local health authorities have printed posters with helpful tips on what they should do at home. In addition, every student was given a bag of traditional Chinese medicine specially made to enhance immunity.

For students who come from other parts of the province, the school will organize several buses to get them home.

All of the students were asked to leave their addresses before heading home, to make it easier to keep track of their conditions.

According to city officials, students will undergo a seven-day medical surveillance at home. If their conditions are normal, medical experts will run a re-check before they can resume classes.
