More schools are being closed as the A/H1N1 pandemic continues to spread in Taiwan. The island's disease control center says thousands of students are affected, with over 300 classes suspended in more than 200 schools.

Despite the suspensions, the students will still have their winter holidays, as well as end-of-semester exams. Meanwhile, health officials say a new medicine that can be injected is undergoing clinical trials overseas. They add, they will strive to import the treatment as soon as it's made available.
