Two moderate earthquakes hit northwest China's Shaanxi and Qinghai provinces. No casualties have been reported.
The first earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter Scale struck Gaoling County in Shaanxi at 7:30 Thursday morning. The epicenter was at a depth of about 6 kilometers. The tremor was felt in the provincial capital Xi'an.
Earlier, a 5.1-magnitude quake at a depth of 6 kilometers jolted the Haixi Mongolian-Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai just before 6 A.M.
