China strengthens A/H1N1 supervision

The Health Ministry is giving provincial health departments the right to conduct testing on the A/H1N1 flu virus. The move is aimed at helping in the treatment of severe A/H1N1 cases.

Qualified local hospitals and clinical institutes are now allowed to collect samples from vulnerable people who have already shown flu-like symptoms. The samples will then be sent to local disease prevention and control centers for testing against the A/H1N1 virus.
