Many people in China will get the opportunity to enjoy a partial eclipse during New Year's celebrations. Astronomers predict a partial lunar eclipse will occur at 2:52 am Beijing time January 1st.
Because of its timing, it will only be visible from parts of Europe, Africa and Asia. Generally, an eclipse can only be seen during a full moon. This usually occurs on the 15th day of the month on the Chinese lunar calendar.
