The sea ice near Laizhou Bay extends up to 20 nautical miles out from the coast and has stranded some 500 ships, including 100 fishing boats from other provinces. A dozen rescue services are delivering water, food and other necessities to those trapped. According to the weather forecast, the ice will last till the end of this month.
