Chinese President Hu meets with Jamaican Prime Minister Bruce Golding

President Hu Jintao has met with Jamaican Prime Minister, Bruce Golding, in Beijing.

During the meeting, Hu Jintao spoke highly about the development of bilateral relations between China and Jamaica since the establishment of diplomatic links 38 years ago. He said China and Jamaica are both developing countries that have similar tasks and challenges. He added that China would like to work with Jamaica to strengthen cooperation in various fields -- including politics and the economy -- to the benefit of both peoples.

Golding said Jamaica attaches great importance to the bilateral relationship between the two nations. He added that his country will adhere to the One-China policy. He concluded that Jamaica looks forward to strengthening cooperation with China, and welcomes more investment in Jamaica from Chinese enterprises.
