For the upcoming World Expo in Shanghai, the cultural campaign "Chinese Elements" will present the splendor of Chinese civilization. Currently, a team of the country's top female singers are gathering to record the theme song for the cultural campaign.

Titled "The World Looks at China", the song is a collaboration between lyricist Wang Pingqiu and composer Su Nan. Both gained fame for their musical contributions during the Beijing Olympics.

The production team for the music video are also led by veteran artists from the Beijing Games. But in contrast with the pop-oriented Welcome to Beijing, the World Expo song displays more characteristics of serious music and recruited its performers from the country's top vocalists. All the singers are female, including Yao Hong, Chang Sisi, Li Danyang, and Liu Yuanyuan.

Yao Hong, vocalist, said, "I think the song is quite smooth. It's rather cool. I believe it will be well received by everyone."

From May 1st till the end of October, the Chinese Elements section will present top class shows from across China at the Shanghai World Expo. Also on display will be demonstrations of China's rich and diverse cultural heritage. Visitors the world over will appreciate and marvel at these fascinating displays to the music of "The World Looks at China".
