He graduated from the Art Department of Harbin Teachers'College in 1979 and the Chinese Painting Department of the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts in 1987. He is skilled at figure and landscape paintings. After absorbing the traditional Chinese painting techniques, he has done a lot of experiments in search of new frontier for various art expressions. He attempts to display young girls and sceneries of Guangdong region from a brand new angle. His emphasis lies on the depth of conception, simple structure and heavy adoption of semi-abstract expressions, which prevail with mystery. He has held painting exhibitions in Beijing, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and the United States and has won high appreciation.
