A handful of never-before-seen photographs from Princess Diana's last photo shoot are going on display at Kensington Palace in London, her old home.

Photographer Mario Testino took the set of 15 photos for Vanity Fair magazine in 1997, five months before Diana died in a car crash in Paris.

This collection documents the closing chapter of one of the most iconic and photographed women of the 20th century. Testino's portrait photographs capture the late princess in a state of relaxation and intimacy unlike any other.

Testino say revisiting the prints is an emotional experience. He said: "When I saw them at the lab...... Because the pictures are alive because they are big in size because of the way we have hung them, she feels very present."

The photographs can be seen alongside a permanent collection of evening dresses worn by the Princess of Wales along with dresses purchased by private collectors.

The selection of about 70 photographs includes many unseen images which, alongside previously published images, tell the story of the meeting between the photographer and his model.
